Shift Schedule
Mugar Memorial Library (Closing) – Eligible for shift differential
Academic year schedule: Sunday-Thursday 6:15 PM – 2:15 AM (Mugar Library)
Summer schedule: Sunday-Thursday 3:15 PM – 11:15 PM (Mugar Library)
Responsibilities
Interact with faculty, students, and other patrons concerning circulation functions, including loans, reserve items, resource discovery, fines, missing items, and interlibrary loan or digitization requests.
Answer questions about access to materials, demonstrate how to find library resources such as journal articles, and refer patrons to appropriate librarians for deeper research support.
Complete activities such as book searching, shelving, collecting statistics, handling financial transactions, sorting and delivering library materials, and identifying opportunities for service improvements. Process materials for stacks or reserves and resolve errors in collaboration with staff.
Assist in the supervision and training of student employees, guiding them, assigning work, and providing support.
Assist with special projects such as stacks maintenance, storage retrieval, shelf‑reading, lost/missing item resolution, delivery of mail within the branch, and tracking of statistics.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree
1–3 years of relevant experience
