Bluemercury is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Store Planning & Design to oversee the Design and Construction of Bluemercury store projects. This individual will work closely with corporate, regional, and 3rd Party teams to ensure coordination and execution of all aspects of the project.

This candidate will oversee the workflow with efficient communication of new openings, renovations, remodels, and varying specialty projects. A successful candidate will have experience in managing a project from start to finish. This role will support and coordinate the design development, interdepartmental coordination, and internal approvals while maintaining company design standards. This position will be required to create a plan of action for fixed project timelines and evaluate risks to schedules. The person seeking this role should have experience managing people, be an effective communicator, and have a collaborative working style.

Job Responsibilities:

Deliver a store opening/remodel to the field team on time and on budget.

Manage CAPEX inputs and seek appropriate internal approvals.

Manage and oversee all external consultants and suppliers in the development of projects.

Oversee and coordinate all design and construction activities involved with the renovation or creation of a new store.

Collaborate and coordinate with all Corporate and Retail Departments such as: IT, Asset Protection, Legal, Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Stores Leadership Team.

Collaborate with the Legal/Real Estate teams to finalize contracts.

Build rapport and relationships with site applicable landlords.

Supervise all on-site activities during construction and build-out of the store.

Visit store sites and prepare reports, from punch list completion and opening, to ensure quality of fit-out, identifying outstanding issues and ensuring appropriate follow-up.

Work with Procurement and oversee the negotiations, bidding, and awarding process.

Review schematic, preliminary and conceptual drawings, and coordinate with local architects’ final construction drawings to ensure accuracy and design intent is met for bid and construction.

Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which success can be evaluated and identifies opportunities for improvement. Measure and gauge the success of implementation and adapt current and future iterations for improved success.

Requirements:

Commutable within the Greater New York Metro Area to work in-store and oversee execution of projects.

7+ years’ in luxury retail or beauty space – operations background preferred.

5+ years’ experience with retail design implementation – Construction background preferred.

Strong interpersonal, communication, project management and people management skills

A self-starter with the ability to organize teams and juggle competing priorities.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to mitigate project risks
