Diamond Foundry is seeking a motivated and highly detail-oriented Technical Writer for a 6‑month full‑time contract to rapidly build, standardize, and maintain critical operational documentation for our advanced manufacturing facility. This role requires close collaboration with technical experts to capture complex maintenance and production processes, ensuring procedural clarity and compliance across all documentation. This role will be on‑site at our Fremont location.
Responsibilities
Generate Maintenance Procedures:
Collaborate directly with Equipment Engineers and Maintenance Technicians to develop, author, and publish comprehensive, step‑by‑step preventative and corrective maintenance procedures for all specialized manufacturing tools.
Establish Documentation Database:
Architect and build a centralized, organized document control and repository base for all technical assets, including operational procedures, training guides, and engineering drawings.
Create Spare Parts Documentation:
Develop and integrate detailed
Spare Parts Lists
(SPLs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs) into maintenance documentation to facilitate efficient inventory management and reduce equipment downtime.
Develop Training Documents:
Produce foundational training documents and guides for technicians and operators covering the safe, effective operation and maintenance of advanced machinery.
Standardize Production SOPs:
Review and revise existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production lines, ensuring they are standardized, compliant with safety protocols, and optimized for clarity and procedural consistency.
Qualifications
Experience:
3+ years of proven professional experience as a Technical Writer, specifically documenting complex procedures in a semiconductor, manufacturing, or heavy industrial/engineering environment.
SME Collaboration:
Demonstrated success in working directly with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), including engineers, scientists, and shop‑floor technicians, to extract accurate procedural information.
Document Control Proficiency:
Strong expertise with documentation tools and experience managing technical files within a controlled document management system.
Technical Aptitude:
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications to accurately document equipment maintenance requirements.
Project Management:
Proven ability to manage a high volume of documentation tasks, prioritize deliverables, and execute project goals within a strict 6‑month deadline.
$40 - $48 an hour
