Music Therapist PRN – Hospice

Salary:
$25–$32 per hour plus mileage
Schedule:
As needed, aligning with hospice coverage needs.
AccentedCare invites a dedicated Music Therapist to provide compassionate, therapeutic music services for terminally ill patients and their families in a hospice setting. The role integrates assessment, intervention, education, and bereavement support within an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Complete music therapy assessment when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care.
Plan and implement individualized music therapy interventions to improve mental, physical, and emotional function and quality of life.
Guide patients in creative therapeutic activities and evaluate effectiveness with patient and/or family-of-choice.
Provide in‑service education to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested.
Serve as a counselor at interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings, participate in on‑call rotation, and assist with sign‑ups and consents for newly referred patients.
Support the bereavement program at the site level.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved university (or equivalent).
Board Certified (MT‑BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT).
Previous experience with terminally ill patients and families is highly desirable.
Valid driver’s license, reliable automobile, and minimum state required auto liability insurance.
