Lead the design vision for our
FLOW-3D
product family, used by engineers and scientists worldwide to solve critical challenges in aerospace, manufacturing, civil engineering, and biotechnology. As our first Senior UX/UI Designer, you’ll define our design strategy, establish world-class standards, and shape how thousands of technical professionals interact with our industry-leading simulation platform.

Transform complex simulation workflows into elegant, intuitive experiences that reduce learning curves and accelerate user productivity across our global customer base
Build a user research practice that delivers continuous strategic insights, directly influencing product roadmap priorities and business decisions
Brand & Visual Excellence
Establish comprehensive design standards and UI patterns that embody Flow Science’s brand identity and ensure consistency across the entire product family
Elevate our visual design language to reflect our position as the industry leader, creating polished interfaces that inspire confidence and professionalism
Design sophisticated visual systems that balance aesthetic refinement with the functional density required by power users performing complex technical work
Leadership & Organizational Impact
Shape product strategy as a key voice in leadership discussions, ensuring user needs and design excellence drive roadmap decisions

Designed sophisticated information architectures for complex technical systems, organizing dense parameter sets, advanced features, and multi-step workflows into elegant, navigable structures

Technical Fluency
Master complex technical domains rapidly, engaging in substantive discussions with engineers about workflow requirements, system constraints, and domain-specific concepts
Understand technical systems deeply, whether CFD, FEA, CAD, or other engineering tools, well enough to make informed design decisions about mesh generation, solver parameters, or post-processing workflows
Communicate design vision and rationale persuasively to technical stakeholders, earning credibility through both design expertise and technical acumen
Core Competencies
Expert-level proficiency in industry-standard design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, or equivalent) with mastery of both rapid prototyping and production-ready design workflows
Exceptional visual design skills with sophisticated understanding of typography, color systems, layout principles, and visual hierarchy in technical contexts
Proven ability to establish design functions from scratch, working autonomously while building alignment across diverse stakeholders
Strong advocacy and presentation skills with ability to influence product strategy and defend design decisions at executive levels
Deep knowledge of accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and best practices for designing enterprise-grade technical software
Ideal Background
Experience establishing design practices as the first or founding designer at a technical company
Educational background or professional experience in engineering, physics, mathematics, or hands‑on use of CAD, CFD, or scientific computing tools
Track record of growing with a company, evolving from individual contributor to design leadership as the organization scaled
