Mechanical Drafter / Designer
We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer to join our team. This role involves designing complex heating-ventilation-cooling and plumbing systems, as well as refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling, and will be able to coordinate effectively with other disciplines. Responsibilities Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems. Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling. Design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings where food and other perishable goods are stored. Coordinate with other disciplines and work in a team environment. Review the installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents. Perform duties with multiple projects within established schedules. Work on a wide variety of project types, scales, and complexities. Manage concurrent projects effectively. Prepare construction cost estimates, both broad and detailed. Assist in the development of contract specifications and research new procedures and products. Perform all work safely and responsibly, following the Health and Safety Plan. Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills. Associates or Certificate in Drafter and Design or similar Proficient in Revit Work Environment The work environment is a family-oriented, bullpen-like office with a team of 23 employees. There is an option to transition to a hybrid work model after demonstrating capability and performance. The position offers generous full-time benefits and competitive compensation, with potential relocation packages available for those moving to Lawrence. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
