  • Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States, purs u ing an undergraduate, graduate and/or law degree    

  • Graduating between  Spring 202 6   - Fall 202 8      

  • Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city  (We do not offer housing   or transportation   accommodations)  

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, OPT, etc.)

Commercial Services   -  Commercial Partnerships   ( Onsite: CA ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

UMG Commercial Partnerships  is   the support organization for all owned and associated labels as well as UMG business divisions relating to the commercial exploitation of content.   As a cross - functional team,  we   ar e   the nexus of execution ,   working collaboratively with Labels, Digital Strategy, Production, Supply Chain/Customer Service, Content Protection, Rights Management, Global Insights, Data &  Analytics   and external industry partners.  

  • Label Support:   Liais e   with account management team to field both owned and distributed label partners’ day-to-day requests such as DSP profile optimization, ad-hoc sales reporting, troubleshooting product delivery issues, and other operational support tasks  

  • Account Management:   Provide label partners with account-specific operational support, collect & communicate advanced links for RUSH releases, track & identify social media trends and provide summary to internal team  

  • Release Admin & Planning:   Assist in identifying & communicating UMG’s upcoming New Releases, working with owned & distributed labels to collect assets,  organize   pitch details, and  communicate   priorities to partners. Track, identify & summarize social media trends for internal  team  

Ideal candidates will have:  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship building with labels and partners.  

  • Experience with analytics, search  engines   and social media marketing is a plus. SQL, Python, data  coding   and visualization skills are welcome.  

  • Strong interest in music and pop culture is  a must !   

Corporate  Communications - Sustainability/ESG  ( Onsite:   NY ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

  The Sustainability/ESG team leads UMG's global environmental action, including accounting for and reducing negative environmental impacts, creating positive environmental impacts, and telling our story through formal reporting  o n ot her communications.  

  • Organize and  optimize   upcoming disclosure activities  

  • Organize volunteer programs for our impact ambassadors worldwide  

  • Assist  in renewable energy transition planning

Data &  Analytics  -  Global  eCommerce & Audience Analytics/Reporting  ( Remote ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

Our team manages a variety of eCommerce and marketing reporting products, tools, and dashboards for a variety of business users.   Our mission is to build compelling reports to drive meaningful action across our varied list of central teams and labels ,  and partner with other relevant teams (tech, data science,  etc. ) to find opportunities to enhance our capabilities and empower teams to make more data-informed decisions.  

  • Serve a   key role in the development of various reporting products/dashboards, helping to craft the technical approach and deliverable aligned with business  objectives  

  • Foster relationships with other  labels , marketing, eCommerce, and operations  teams   to   gather, scrutinize, and document business requirements  

  • Design advanced, compelling, actionable data visualizations for a variety of different stakeholder groups  

  • Help drive enterprise-wide product engagement and adoption via regular data QA and troubleshooting  

  • Leverage your data-oriented mindset, instincts, and curiosity to  identify   the signals,  trends   and meaningful information from an array of datasets

  • Strong  proficiency   in SQL with proven ability to write complex queries to analyze data  

  • Experience in customizing and managing BI tool frontend environments (Looker is a  huge  plus)

Data & Analytics  -  Strategic Analytics   ( Onsite:  CA ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

The Strategic Analytics department supports Universal Music Group’s global business by transforming data into  actionable   strategy.   We partner with labels, central functions, and leadership teams to deliver advanced analytics, forecasting, and insight frameworks that inform artist strategy, catalog management, and market growth.   Our mission is to make data-driven decision-making faster, smarter, and more impactful across the company.  

As part of the Strategic Analytics team at Universal Music Group, you will contribute to high-impact projects that connect data, business strategy, and music. You   wi ll gain exposure to the analytical frameworks and commercial thinking that guide UMG’s global labels and leadership teams.

  • Support market and artist performance  analyses ,  identifying   trends that inform strategic and commercial  decisions;  

  • Assist  in the design and delivery of analytical projects focused on catalog growth, release performance, and audience engagement ;  

  • Translate insights into clear business recommendations through structured storytelling and presentation  building;  

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, insights, and finance teams to align data-driven findings with creative and operational  goals;  

  • Contribute to internal tools and dashboards that help stakeholders access and interpret insights  efficiently;  

  • Participate in process and communication improvements, such as refining presentation templates, organizing project repositories, or supporting team-wide  initiatives;  

  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking by proposing new methods, metrics, or approaches to improve how we measure success and communicate value.

  • Comfortable using Excel for data modeling and analysis (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, scenario modeling) and PowerPoint for building clear, visual, and compelling  presentations;

Bonus points if you also have:  

  • Some experience coding for data analytics (e.g., SQL or Python );

Facility & Property Services  -  Facilities  (Onsite:  CA   & TN ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

The Facility & Property Services department manages all aspects of UMG’s physical spaces including ensuring a safe and functional office space,  maintaining   building systems, overseeing large construction projects and repairs, and managing lease strategies and landlord relations.

  • Assisting   with operational process improvement, project management, and administrative duties related to day-to-day facilities operations  

  • Construction projects, and lease management  

  • Invoice payment, project tracking, proposal review, lease analysis, systems creation, and strategic operations

Global Insights  -  Artist Insights and Strategy   ( Onsite:  NY ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

Global Insights supports labels and business units across UMG, with a focus on strategic insights and research that informs marketing, A&R, commercial/digital  teams   and campaign strategy.  

  • Work closely with the Global Insight Directors in running strategic analysis that informs A&R, commercial and digital strategies for UMG.   

  • Support global insights team on artist and broader industry insights requests  

  • Analyze trends across platforms (streaming, social media, and physical sales) to uncover actionable insights and support label strategies.  

  • Support in creating visualizations and storytelling presentations that clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders  

Ideal candidates will have:

Global Revenue Royalty Operations -  Royalty Accounting Group   ( Remote ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

Royalty Accounting Group handles all accounting functions for UMG's Royalty Department .   Interacts with Central Accounting Services, Label Finance Teams, and various Royalty Teams (Artist, Copyright, Union, and Audit) .    

There are 3 sub-divisions within Royalty Accounting Group.   The goal is to have  our intern   work with all 3 teams .    

  • P&L  

  • Balance sheets  

  • UMG's merchandise royalties  

Ideal candidates will have:  

  • Basic accounting skills and knowledge  

  • Understanding debit and credit.      

North America  Finance  -  Commercial Services   ( Onsite: CA ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

This dynamic team drives the Finance and Planning functions across UMG’s Commercial Services  division;   including our third party distributed labels, UMG for Brands, eCommerce, Marketing and °1824 business units .   This team is charged with strategic partner relations, including business reviews, historical trend  analysis   and forward-looking planning.

North America  Finance  -   Central Operations   ( Onsite: CA ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

The Central Operations Finance team oversees the costs associated with the  day-to-day   operating departments such as facilities, PIC, royalties, and accounting. We create budgets and forecasts as well as review the actuals at  month - end   close.

  • U pdating and preparing our forecast and budget files along with shadowing fellow team members to learn how to project future financial assumptions.  

  • Attend meetings and  assist   with ensuring that we gather all necessary information to help with forecasting.  

Ideal candidates will have:  

  • F lexibility when deadlines and work are fluctuating  

  • Ability to work across multiple departments and ask for prioritization clarification.  

North America  Finance  -  US Compliance  ( Remote ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

The UMG  US   Compliance   & Control s   team supports our annual compliance program including but not limited  to:   internal control evaluation, design and documentation, walkthroughs, sample-based audit testing, remediation, results reporting and process improvements .  

  • Assist   with control testing  

  • Update process flowcharts  

  • Update risk and control matrices (RCMs)

North America  Finance  -   Finance & Planning   ( Onsite:  CA ):  

How  You’ll   CREATE:  

The North America Finance team  consolidates   the results of the Universal Music labels, providing guidance and analyzing performance for the North American territory. This position will interact closely with Universal Music label Finance teams and the Central Accounting team to support the monthly close processes, document variance explanations, and analyze results. The in tern   will be involved in the quarterly financial forecast and annual operating plan processes while also  assisting   with other ad hoc analyses as  required .  

  • Provide  day-to-day   finance support to the North America Recorded Music Division and liaise with the Label Finance teams and Central Accounting team on key elements of the monthly close/forecasts  

  • Assist  in preparation and assembly of quarterly financial forecasts and annual plan for UMG  

  • Analyze actual variances to budget and forecast for various Universal Music divisions  

  • Collect,  analyze   and report key performance indicators and highlight trends in margin, artist  investment   and cash flow  

  • Participate in developing forward looking revenue guidance for North America labels by analyzing industry trends, marketing data, DSP reporting as well as historical data  

  • Assist  in analyzing and forecasting revenue accruals for the entire territory to ensure  timely   reporting with accuracy  

  • Develop KPIs/dashboards/presentations by synthesizing large datasets to consumable financial insights to senior executives  

  • Drive efficiency by  identifying   areas for system improvement/adoption as well as guiding continuous improvement efforts for financial analysis & reporting tools

People, Inclusion and Culture (PIC), UMG’s HR department, is looking for an intern that is curious about the business of music and interested in supporting the day-to-day operations of two of our people-centered teams.    

The  People Operations & Systems   team acts as the engine room of HR and  is responsible for   managing the core administrative and technological infrastructure that supports the entire PIC function, such as employee information, data management, compliance, reporting and analytics.   

The  People Development & Organizational Effectiveness  team acts as a strategic partner to the business by developing a culture of inclusion,  belonging   and learning that supports innovation, training and development, employee  performance   and engagement.

We’re   looking for an intern to support  People Data Analytics and Talent Acquisition  who blends strong analytical acumen with hands-on recruitment support to enable better decision-making and exceptional hiring experiences across the organization.   

As an intern ,   you will serve as both a data storyteller and operational partner within the People team.  You’ll   transform people and talent data into actionable insights while delivering high-quality coordination across Talent Acquisition processes. This hybrid role supports day-to-day recruiting operations, reporting, and strategic people analytics to strengthen our HR capabilities.   

People Data Analytics & Insights    

  • Collect, clean, and analyze  people   data (e.g., headcount, recruitment funnel metrics, DEI, engagement, turnover) to generate actionable insights for HR and business leaders.   

  • Build dashboards, visualizations, and recurring reports to track KPIs and progress against strategic priorities.   

  • Partner with HRIS, TA, Finance, and DEI teams to ensure consistency in data definitions, reporting standards, and compliance.   

  • Conduct routine data audits to ensure accuracy, integrity, and alignment across HR systems.

  • Maintain  applicant tracking system (ATS) data hygiene, updating candidate statuses, postings, and recruitment trackers.   

  • Support TA reporting by monitoring recruiting funnel metrics and  identifying   opportunities to improve efficiency and candidate experience.   

  • Assist  in job posting administration, offer letter preparation, background check coordination, and onboarding handoffs.   

  • Partner with hiring managers and recruiters to  anticipate   needs, troubleshoot scheduling challenges, and ensure alignment throughout the hiring process.   

  • Participate in optimization initiatives through process discovery, solution design, training preparation, and implementation.
