Congocamp, Virginia, MN, United States, 55792
About the role
Our Photographer & Videographer capture the spirit of camp, smiles, teamwork, and milestone moments through high-quality photos and short-form video. You’ll cover daily activities across sites, edit and deliver organized assets on schedule, and follow school privacy and brand guidelines so families can relive the magic safely and beautifully.
Responsibilities
- Capture compelling photos and videos of camp life (activities, group shots, candid moments, special events) across indoor/outdoor settings.
- Edit daily/weekly selects (basic color/exposure, light retouching, audio leveling for clips); export to approved formats and aspect ratios.
- Deliver organized assets on schedule using the camp’s folder/filename conventions (by session/group/date); add captions/keywords as directed.
- Produce simple highlight pieces (e.g., 30–90s reels, end-of-session slideshows) aligned to brand tone and music/licensing rules.
- Follow privacy and media-release policies: maintain opt-out lists, avoid restricted areas/contexts, and obtain approvals before posting/sharing.
- Coordinate coverage with camp leadership; build a light shot list; prioritize equitable representation of groups and programs.
- Manage gear: charge batteries, back up cards daily to approved storage (primary + backup), maintain organization logs, and flag maintenance needs.
- Work safely: remain situationally aware around children and activities; keep equipment secured; follow staff directions during transitions and field trips.
- Communicate professionally with families, staff, and vendors; maintain confidentiality.
- Support occasional special events (family nights, showcases) as scheduled.
- Meet school policies and brand guidelines while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality; be punctual, prepared, and flexible; and perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or designee.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience photographing/filming youth programs, events, or similar fast-moving environments (portfolio or reel strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless systems, basic audio for video, and editing tools (e.g., Lightroom/Camera Raw; Premiere/Final Cut/or similar).
- Strong visual storytelling, composition, and candid-capture skills; comfortable giving quick, friendly direction for small group shots.
- Organized file-management workflow; reliable with backups and on-time deliverables.
- Able to move between sites and work outdoors in varied weather; lift/carry gear.
Eligibility
Must be at least 18 years old by the first day of employment, able to pass required background/screening checks per School and Virginia regulations.
