Reports to: Founder & Creative Director, Jia-Jia Zhu

About the Role

JIA JIA Jewelry is seeking a highly creative, resourceful, and technically skilled Director of Video Content — a hybrid Producer + Director + Editor who can concept, capture, and craft beautiful, high‑performing content across social, commercial, and paid platforms.

As the Director of Video Content, you’ll own the end‑to‑end creative process — from ideation and planning through production, editing, and delivery. You’ll collaborate directly with the Founder and Marketing team to shape the brand’s visual voice and storytelling across digital platforms, creating content that is elevated, on‑brand, and optimized to perform.

This is a key creative role for someone who’s equal parts artist and strategist — someone who can bring vision, technical mastery, and efficiency to every project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept, plan, and execute original content across all platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Meta
  • Commercial content including website visuals, product stories, and campaign videos
  • Paid content including Meta ads (Facebook and Instagram)
  • Film, edit, and deliver weekly content that feels elevated, on‑trend, and performance‑driven
  • Lead creative development from storyboarding and shot lists to music, editing style, and pacing
  • Collaborate closely with the Founder and Marketing team to align creative direction with brand vision and campaign goals
  • Manage production logistics including location scouting, styling, lighting, and shoot coordination
  • Build and maintain a scalable workflow for content output

Creative Direction & Brand Storytelling

  • Develop innovative visual concepts that merge luxury aesthetics with modern storytelling and viral appeal
  • Balance creativity with strategy, crafting content designed to stop scrolls, build awareness, and drive conversion
  • Ensure brand consistency in tone, visuals, and narrative across all assets
  • Stay ahead of digital trends, evolving formats, and cultural shifts that inspire new ideas

Technical Execution & Efficiency

  • Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment confidently with an understanding of professional production standards
  • Edit video content with precision, delivering seamless, polished work optimized for each platform
  • Utilize AI tools, automation, and modern software to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and accelerate delivery
  • Stay current with the latest creative technologies, post‑production workflows, and equipment
  • Manage file organization, versioning, and asset delivery across campaigns

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience as a director of video, videographer, or content creator in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or luxury brands
  • A strong creative portfolio showcasing social, brand, and paid media content
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
  • Expertise in camera operation, lighting, and sound
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Meta Ads
  • Up‑to‑date on AI creative tools (e.g., Runway, Descript, Midjourney, CapCut) and how to leverage them for production efficiency
  • Excellent storytelling instincts and sense of timing, rhythm, and composition
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deliverables at once
  • Based in Los Angeles, with flexibility for in‑person shoots

Who You Are

  • A visionary creative with strong taste and a refined aesthetic eye
  • An innovator who loves experimenting with format, motion, and storytelling
  • A self‑starter who thrives in a small, fast‑moving, entrepreneurial team
  • Passionate about brand building, luxury, art, and digital storytelling
  • Collaborative, open‑minded, and confident in taking direction or leading creative

Nice to Have

  • Experience with still photography or motion graphics
  • Understanding of creative optimization for paid social performance (Meta Ads)
