Course Overview
MUSC 170 Audio Production for Musicians: This course offers an overview of music production techniques and technology, including fundamental recording, editing, and music notation software. Students will learn proper preparation, file handling via storage clouds and external drives, use of MIDI, and management of digital audio workstations (DAW) and multimedia applications. The course emphasizes application to composition, songwriting, and multimedia projects. Classes meet Mondays 9:00 – 12:50 p.m.
Responsibilities
Teach the Audio Production for Music Majors course, prepare lecture materials, lead in‑class activities, demonstrate production techniques, and assess student learning. Collaborate with the Arts & Design department to incorporate current industry practices and faculty initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field required.
- Prior teaching experience required.
