We invite you to help shape how communities manage water, delivering safe drinking water, treating wastewater, developing sustainable supplies, and protecting lives and property through flood control. This role supports public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.
Responsibilities
- Develop content marketing strategies and communications plans for initiatives and projects to elevate thought leadership, people and project work.
- Lead global and local communications strategies, collaborating with internal business partners, creative, marketing, and communications teams.
- Assist in the development and management of an editorial calendar.
- Work with subject matter experts to craft white papers, feature articles, thought leadership pieces, and social media content.
- Ghost‑write and edit blogs, social media posts, papers, and presentations by subject matter experts.
- Help develop collateral and marketing campaign materials.
- Research, write and edit project narratives and case studies.
- Monitor industry best practices and maintain a repository of trends and examples.
- Support event management as needed.
- Bring genuine, creative ideas to the table.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field.
- Previous consulting and/or creative agency experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in a communications field: social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently with multiple teams and also collaboratively.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills – positive outlook and attitude.
- High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.
- Commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.
- Comfortable and competent working with senior leaders and managing cross‑functional efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to operate strategically and tactically in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.
- Committed to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation
Expected range: $48,699 – $92,760 depending on skills, experience, education, and location.
Location
Primary location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States.
Employment Type
Full‑time, Regular.
