Role Description
This is a volunteer hybrid role for a Media Editor (under our Media Director) based in Chesapeake, VA, allowing work to be completed mostly remotely. The Media Editor will be responsible for developing and curating new media content, producing and editing video materials, and managing editorial tasks to support communication strategies. Day-to-day tasks include creating engaging media, writing content, polishing projects for accuracy and consistency, and collaborating with team members to amplify the organization's voice and mission.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in New Media content creation and understanding of digital media platforms
- Strong skills in Video Production and Video Editing
- Experience in Writing and Editorial, with a strong attention to detail
- Passion for supporting veterans and their families through impactful media
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
- Experience in nonprofit communications is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, or related field preferred is an added bonus
