A prominent and fast-growing law firm is looking for a Corporate Event Planner to elevate every event and hospitality experience in our downtown Chicago office. This full-time, in-person role is perfect for someone who thrives on orchestrating events with precision and creativity, ensuring every company gathering runs flawlessly. From planning and coordinating to executing on-site and off-premises events, this role is at the heart of our culture, delivering seamless experiences that leave a lasting impression. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and energized by fast‑paced environments, thriving in a hands‑on role that leads hospitality and event operations from start to finish. The role offers a competitive salary of $90,000–$120,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Vision, Dental, FSA, Life Insurance, Disability Coverage, 401K, Commuter Benefits, and Pet Insurance.
Responsibilities
- Lead all major office events, ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed with style and efficiency.
- Plan and coordinate both on‑site and off‑premises events, creating polished and memorable experiences.
- Manage catering, beverages, and guest services while swiftly resolving logistical challenges to keep events running smoothly.
- Cultivate strong vendor relationships, manage budgets, and oversee contracts and post‑event reconciliations.
- Supervise and guide support staff involved in hospitality and events, providing training and direction as needed.
- Coordinate technology, audiovisual equipment, and logistics to guarantee seamless presentations and gatherings.
- Continuously assess and enhance hospitality offerings to elevate attendee experiences.
- Act as the primary contact for event stakeholders, keeping hosts and organizers informed every step of the way.
Qualifications
- Requires prior experience managing internal corporate events in an in‑house setting. Experience limited to third‑party event planning firms does not meet this requirement.
- 5+ years of experience in hospitality, events, or a related field; experience in a law firm or professional services setting is preferred.
- Exceptionally organized and detail‑oriented, able to juggle multiple projects and pivot quickly under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with colleagues, clients, and vendors at all levels.
- Proven track record in managing budgets, negotiating with vendors, and coordinating complex logistics.
- Creative problem‑solver with a flair for designing memorable experiences and elevating workplace hospitality.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support early‑morning, evening, or last‑minute events.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment requiring initiative, with familiarity in event technology, audiovisual systems, and hospitality operations considered a plus.
