LIBRARIAN: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) – San Diego Community College District

Posting may reflect an ongoing pool for part-time adjunct/temporary faculty positions. Applications may be considered for upcoming openings in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Responsibilities

• Provide reference, collection development, instructional workshops, technical services, cataloging, electronic resource management, online services, and/or outreach to students, faculty, and classified professionals in a variety of modalities in support of the library.
• For for-credit courses, teach in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines; divide teaching between lecture and lab as determined by the department; be available to students outside of class.
• Attend and participate in department, campus, and district meetings; contribute to the development and implementation of library policies and procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas and fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics; perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
• Master's degree in Library Science, or Library and Information Science (American Library Association-accredited); OR
• Possession of a California Community College Librarian Credential (valid for life); OR
• The equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications

• California Community College Librarian Credential (valid for life) – if possessed.

Desirable Qualifications

• Equivalency options available if exact degrees are not possessed; foreign degrees require evaluation per NACES/ACEI guidelines and submission with online application.

Special Instructions / Working Conditions

Working conditions varied by assignment; selected candidate must complete required pre-employment steps:

• Present original documents for eligibility to work in the United States.

Pay Information
