Multimedia Developer HousingResEd (Finance)
The Multimedia Developer designs, develops, and produces multimedia projects based on departmental objectives, target audiences, timelines, and available resources. This position applies expertise in communications, technology, and visual storytelling to create engaging content across multiple platforms, including video, photography, and digital media. Content supports Housing & Residential Education's marketing, educational, and training initiatives for over 7,500 on-campus students.
Reporting & Collaboration
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Communication, the Multimedia Developer collaborates with staff across Housing & Residential Education at the Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota‑Manatee campuses, and campus partners, to deliver creative multimedia solutions.
Application Review
Application Review is planned for January 5 - 7, 2026. USF will be closed December 22 - January 4, but applications will be accepted during this period.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, technical writing, digital media, or related field.
- Two years of experience in related positions.
- Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Communications, Writing, Public Relations, or related field from a regionally accredited university/college.
- Three years of related experience in University Student Housing or Student Affairs.
Application Requirement
Candidates must provide a link to an online portfolio showcasing photography, videography, and multimedia production work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop multimedia content for advertising, promotion, training, and brand-building, including photos, videos, podcasts, and campaigns.
- Allocate resources and manage priorities to meet project deadlines under limited supervision.
- Assist in creating major marketing campaigns and delegate tasks to student marketing team members.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees; foster creativity and productivity through coaching and development.
- Design and implement new hire training programs aligned with departmental values and technical requirements.
- Ensure all content complies with USF and Housing & Residential Education branding standards.
- Maintain proficiency in and train staff on photography, videography, and editing tools (e.g., Sony A7 cameras, Adobe Lightroom/Premiere).
- Capture photos and videos at departmental and campus events; support outreach activities such as open houses and admitted student programs.
- Conduct research on policies and best practices; present findings and communicate updates as directed.
- Represent the department at events and provide hands‑on support for successful engagement.
- Perform other duties, projects, and work as assigned.
Degree Equivalency Clause
- Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
- Senate Bill 1310– The Florida Senate is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
- SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements.
- A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
- • (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- • (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- • (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
- • (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
- • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
