Teacher - Music: Vocal/Instrumental/General, K-8 (Longterm Substitute) (SY25-26)
Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Music Teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers who desire to serve where their efforts matter. The position is a long‑term substitute that is expected to start immediately and end when the incumbent returns from leave. All substitutes are hired as per diem.

Responsibilities
- Teach music to K‑8 students.
- Use the Rubric of Effective Teaching to set ambitious learning goals, assess progress, and adjust instruction.
- Communicate content knowledge through engaging, standards‑aligned instruction.
- Scaffold and differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs.
- Build a productive, respectful classroom environment.
- Engage families and build collaborative relationships.
- Reflect on practice, seek feedback, and collaborate professionally.

Qualifications - Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Music (All Levels).
- Meet state and federal licensing requirements to be fully licensed and ‘Highly Qualified.’
- Ability to meet the Boston Public Schools Standards of Effective Teaching.
- Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.
Qualifications - Preferred
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
- Fluency in one of BPS’ official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali, etc.).
- Certification in Moderate Disabilities or English as a Second Language, as appropriate.
