Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are on the front line of interacting with our partners, helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV, and Commerce.

The North America News Partnerships team works to transform Google’s relationship with the news industry in both the U.S. and Canada. We build relationships that solve user needs, advance our partners’ goals, and further Google’s mission. Within this sector, the Broadcast and MediaGroups team works with a range of news partners—including newspapers, television, radio, social media creators, and digital natives—to uphold Google’s commitment to quality information.

The Global Partnerships organization explores new opportunities with Google’s partners across a wide range of products and industries. This team supports Google’s own product teams by creating product‑enabling partnerships, go‑to‑market strategies, and incubating business growth.

US base salary range: $134,000–$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationships with your assigned news organizations, identifying and driving new opportunities to grow their audience and business through Google’s product areas.
  • Collaborate closely with various Google teams to foster a partner‑centric approach, representing Google externally at relevant U.S. industry events and advocating internally for partner needs.
  • Manage all aspects of agreement development, from opportunity identification within your partnership portfolio to initial negotiations, communication, and ongoing operational support.
  • Gather U.S. market and industry insights, contributing to the team's overall understanding of partners, the market, and any specific products or areas you specialize in.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking within the consumer electronics, auto, OEMs, telecom, e‑commerce/retail, apps, ads, gaming, or technology industries.
  • Experience working with C‑level executives and cross‑functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within or partnering with U.S. broadcast or print media organizations.
  • Experience planning and executing multi‑partner events and programs, both virtual and in‑person.
  • Track record of driving team engagement and collaboration to bring the team together.
  • Proficiency in project management, data analysis, and synthesis for business tracking.
  • Understanding of the U.S. News ecosystem, including its tests and opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and influence executive internal and external stakeholders.
