PR Director

Located in New York City, this in‑person full‑time role requires a seasoned communications professional with 6–7 years of fashion or agency PR experience. The Director will lead client accounts, develop integrated communications strategies, and mentor a growing team while delivering measurable ROI for high‑profile fashion, lifestyle, and luxury brands.

Client Strategy & Leadership

  • Serve as strategic lead for clients, driving strategy sessions and leading the development of integrated strategy documents.
  • Act as senior counsel to clients, addressing needs thoughtfully, identifying opportunities, and ensuring delivery of impactful ROI.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and industries; proactively monitor news and trends to anticipate risks and opportunities.
  • Drive go‑to‑market planning for new product collections, seasonal launches, and brand extensions.
  • Develop compelling product narratives—including positioning, messaging, claims, and educational content that translate brand heritage into culturally relevant, resonant storytelling.
  • Leverage consumer insights, competitive analysis, and market trends to inform strategy and identify whitespace.
  • Proactively ideate big‑picture campaigns and press opportunities by identifying and leveraging media trends.

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Oversee planning and rollout of multi‑channel marketing initiatives across paid media, PR, social, eCommerce, experiential, and brand partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and execute 360° integrated campaigns.
  • Develop creative publicity initiatives to enhance awareness and elevate brand perception.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with media professionals to support PR objectives, including crafting and distributing press releases, media kits, and related materials.
  • Oversee paid influencer partnerships by negotiating contracts, ensuring briefs and deliverables are strategically aligned, and KPIs achieved.
  • Establish and track robust KPIs for campaigns, using analytics tools to assess performance, analyze ROI, and refine strategies as needed.

Reputation & Crisis Management

  • Serve as main contact for sensitive client problem‑solving and crisis mitigation.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, collaborating with client and agency teams to monitor sentiment, identify risks, craft messaging strategies, and manage reputation.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Contribute to building company culture, improving morale, managing workload, and driving overall growth as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of PR professionals, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance work environment.
  • Develop direct reports through clear career development plans, stretching assignments, and ongoing coaching.
  • Build effective teams by fostering strong morale, encouraging open dialogue, celebrating wins, and creating a sense of belonging and accountability.

Business Development

  • Contribute to business development by pitching new clients and expanding existing relationships.
  • Support strategic development for organic and new business growth through deck creation, client presentations, and strategic counsel.

Operational Excellence

  • Support the team with tactical news creation and problem solving.
  • Drive the roll‑out of client strategies, ensuring deadlines are met and ROI delivered.
  • Monitor budgets and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and outcomes.Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures to evolve and improve team processes.

Qualifications

  • 6–7 years of experience in public relations, communications, or related fields (fashion, lifestyle, or agency experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record of managing client accounts and leading strategic communications campaigns.
  • Strong relationships with media, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, setting KPIs, and analyzing ROI.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Proficient in PR and analytics platforms (e.g., Launchmetrics, Muck Rack, Cision, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite).

Work Environment

  • This is an in‑person role based out of our NYC office, five days a week.
  • Requires flexibility for nights and weekends to support client events, activations, and deadlines.
  • Fast‑paced, team‑oriented, and highly collaborative environment.

Salary $140,000–$160,000
