How a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Technician II will make an impact
- Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.
- Will verify services by testing circuits/equipment/alarms & identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
- Leverage LMR shop operations & management experience from a large-scale LMR shop.
- Will respond to emergency calls in the event of a system failure.
- Will install, remove, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, & repair telecommunication equipment, to include running/pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays.
- Apply hands‑on experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of Motorola & other LMR Equipment
What you’ll need to succeed
- Education: High School Diploma/GED
- Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
- Required Technical Skills: Must be qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters and mobile radios.
- Security Clearance Level: SECRET
- Required Skills and Abilities:
- Communications consoles
- Repeaters
- XTS‑5000 and other hand‑held radios
- Trunked and non‑trunked LMR systems
- Key loaders, antennas, multi‑couplers, duplexers
- Test equipment (service monitors/ system analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power meters, spectrum analyzer)
- Digital recording equipment
- OTAR keying equipment (Key management facility)
- Site controllers
- Location: On Customer Site
- US Citizenship Required - Clearance
