General Information
The Breeze is hiring two Senior Anchors/Managing Editors for its weekly news show, Breeze TV. Students selected will lead the weekly newscast and have a leadership role on the staff as managing editors of the show. As anchors, students will be part of a two‑person team that hosts the show. As managing editors, students will work with the News Director in editing news and mentoring reporters. Positions begin April 1, with training during the weeks immediately after spring break. Must be able to be back on campus two weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
Responsibilities
- Anchor the weekly show.
- Anchor special shows such as elections coverage or other breaking‑news coverage.
- Assist the news director in leading the team to produce each week’s show.
- Mentor and train reporters.
- Set the editorial direction of the newscast.
Qualifications
- Broadcast abilities, including on‑air presence and ability to report under deadline on a live TV show.
- Ability to lead a team.
- News judgment.
- Broadcast editing abilities.
- Mentoring skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Additional Posting Information
Students must be degree‑seeking students, enrolled on at least a half‑time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
