Location: Remote, Florida
Department: Overlay Sales / Product
Reports To: Kristen Koenig
Job Title: Product Solutions Consultant, Video
RingCentral is seeking a growth‑focused Product Solutions Consultant, Video to serve as the premier technical overlay for our Video Rooms solutions. In this high‑impact role you will act as the “Special Forces” support for our Account Teams (Account Executives, Sales Engineers, Customer Success), specifically targeting complex video hardware and software opportunities.
You are not just a demo jockey; you are a consultative technical architect. You will join core sales cycles to discover a customer’s current physical setup, diagnose pain points, and prescribe the perfect marriage of RingCentral software and certified hardware. Your goal is to provide the technical confidence and solution design required to bring video room deals across the finish line.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Pitches: Serve as the subject‑matter expert on sales calls, delivering high‑level technical presentations and demonstrations focused on RingCentral Rooms.
- Consultative Discovery: Lead deep‑dive discovery sessions to understand the customer’s existing AV infrastructure, conference room physical layouts, and network environment.
- Hardware & Solution Design: Translate customer needs into a concrete Bill of Materials (BOM) and recommend specific hardware configurations (Poly, Yealink, etc.) that best fit the room size, acoustics, and user requirements.
- Deal Acceleration: Remove technical barriers to sale by addressing security concerns, network requirements, and hardware compatibility questions in real‑time to shorten the sales cycle.
- Account Team Support & Overlay: Act as an overlay resource for Account Executives and Generalist Sales Engineers, stepping in when the conversation turns to complex physical meeting spaces.
- Technical Enablement: Mentor the wider sales engineering team on spotting Video Room opportunities and performing basic discovery, elevating the technical acumen of the entire floor.
- Competitive Positioning: Provide account teams with technical differentiators to win against competitors (Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco Webex).
- Field‑to‑Product Liaison: Act as the “voice of the customer” back to Product Management, providing detailed feedback on hardware interoperability, feature gaps, and room‑specific use cases found in the field.
- Simplify the Sell: Work with Marketing and Ops to refine the ordering workflow and hardware bundles, making it easier for non‑specialist reps to quote and sell Rooms.
- Post‑Sale Handoff & Continuity: Ensure a seamless transition from “Sold” to “Deployed” by providing detailed technical schematics and requirements to Professional Services and Implementation teams.
- High‑Level Implementation Guidance: Serve as a technical escalation point during critical deployments to ensure the architectural vision is executed correctly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5‑7+ years in Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, or AV Consulting, with a specific focus on UCC (Unified Communications & Collaboration) or Video Conference Rooms.
- Hardware Fluency: Deep technical knowledge of the video hardware ecosystem (e.g., Logitech, Poly, Yealink, Jabra, Neat) and how they integrate with cloud software. Understanding wiring, POE, HDMI injection, and room acoustics.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to discuss network requirements (bandwidth, jitter, firewall traversal) and software configuration with IT Directors and CIOs.
- Sales DNA: Understanding of the sales cycle, knowing when to talk technical and when to focus on business value. Driven by closing deals.
- Communication: Exceptional presentation skills, capable of commanding a room (virtual or physical) and whiteboard solution designs on the fly.
Travel Requirements
- This role requires travel to customer sites and hardware partner offices to conduct site surveys, room walk‑throughs, and face‑to‑face pitches to foster strong relationships and close business.
