Front End Web Developer – Mid to Experienced Level (Maryland)

Job Summary

The NSA Web team is seeking experienced Front End Web Developers to design and develop state‑of‑the‑art websites and web applications for the Agency intranet.

Responsibilities

  • Consult extensively with customers to elicit project requirements, provide content strategy services, and establish project timelines.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement technical solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Communicate ideas through low‑ and high‑fidelity mockups.
  • Design, develop, and implement user‑friendly, professional, visually‑pleasing, accessible websites and user‑interfaces for web applications.
  • Provide customer‑service support on web‑based tools.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Web Design, Web Development, Computer Science, UI/UX, or related field.
  • Relevant experience combining web design and web development (minimum requirements vary with education level).
  • Experience applying the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (JQuery, Bootstrap is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of web design principles, information architecture, navigation, and usability.
  • Experience with responsive design, graphic web design, and content management systems (WordPress a plus).
  • Online portfolio demonstrating recent web development, UX, and graphic design work.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

Salary range: $84,601 – $185,234, depending on experience and location. Full‑time position with a flexible 8‑hour workday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday). NSA offers a comprehensive benefits package and a two‑year DCIPS trial period (one year for veterans’ preference‑eligible employees).
