About the role
We are supporting a fast-growing retail business in the Pet space. They are a premier specialty retailer in the pet industry, employing approximately 50,000 professionals across a substantial network of locations. Our client significantly contributes to the community through initiatives that support animal welfare. This UI Designer position within our client emphasizes crafting intuitive user interfaces, particularly through a mobile-centric lens. The selected professional will collaborate intimately with the UI team to ensure that designs are both visually appealing and functionally effective, adhering to established mobile design standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with IT, Engineering, and Technology teams to support efficient and high-quality project execution.
- Design intuitive, high-quality user interfaces as part of the UI team, with a primary focus on mobile platforms.
- Lead and contribute to strategic UI initiatives, ensuring consistency, usability, and visual coherence across experiences.
- Partner effectively with Product Management and Engineering teams to build strong working relationships and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Apply mobile-first design principles aligned with iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design standards.
- Balance business, technical, and timeline constraints while maintaining a high standard of user experience.
- Communicate design rationale clearly and engage stakeholders to drive alignment and informed decision-making.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in UI design, with 2–5 years ideally within the retail domain.
- Proficiency with design and collaboration tools including Figma and FigJam.
- Solid understanding of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design standards (strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate requirements into effective UI solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and user-centered design capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working in cross‑functional teams.
