Location: Chicago Salary: $115,000–$165,000 + Bonus (Base pay $90,000–$165,000 per year). Hours: ~1,800 billable hours/year with flexibility. Schedule: Hybrid in‑office (5 days first 6 months, 4 days ongoing). Highlights
Tight‑knit bankruptcy & creditors’ rights team (1 partner + 1 attorney). Focus on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights with exposure to mechanic’s liens and general commercial litigation. Reasonable hours, collections‑based bonus, support to develop a book of business. Collegial, low‑ego firm with long‑term retention. Role
Handle bankruptcy pleadings, motions, and related research. Participate in general commercial litigation at junior level. Perform in‑the‑trenches foundational work. Collaborate with partner‑led, trained team; early client exposure. Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: ~$115k (1 yr experience) to $155k–$165k (3 yr experience). Billable target: ~1,800 hours/year (5% buffer). Bonus: tied to collections/production, additional upside for originated work. Benefits: extensive medical coverage (firm pays majority), 401(k) contribution, life insurance, parental leave, monthly cell phone reimbursement. Ideal Candidate
1–3 years of law practice (up to ~6 years considered). At least 1 year of practice with exposure to bankruptcy (coursework, clerkship, etc.). Interest in long‑term career in bankruptcy/creditors’ rights. Strong research, writing, litigation skills; comfortable with detail‑oriented work. Team‑oriented, proactive, looking for stable, growth‑focused environment. Comfortable with office‑first culture: 5 days/week in‑office first 6 months, then ≥4 days/week. Contact
