Summary Seeking a self-managed, results-oriented, and strategic mechanical designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams, drive projects to successful completion, and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare engineering drawing packages, including layout, assembly, detail drawings, and sketches.

Create and modify 3D piping, custom components, equipment, structures, and piping facilities.

Collaborate with design engineers to ensure accurate translation of design concepts into CAD models.

Lead CAD projects, coordinate project sessions, and manage deliverable stages.

Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.

Perform assessments, design calculations, data collection, and analysis to support engineering activities.

Generate isometric drawings and detail custom pipe fittings for construction.

Coordinate and execute as-built projects, including field verifications and sketches.

Liaise with clients and act as a single point of contact for drafting project management.

Support multi-disciplinary design drafting for facilities engineering.

Prepare 2D and 3D construction drawing documentation packages and verify design drawings for specification compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of piping design experience or related field.

Proficiency with industry systems: AutoCAD Plant 3D, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Lisp Routine, Cadworx Plant Professional, Cadworx Structure, Cadworx Equipment, ProCad, MS Office.

Strong strategic management, planning, organization, collaboration, and execution skills.

Service-focused, innovative, complex problem solver, and effective communicator.

Experience with standards and codes: ASME, ANSI, API, CSA.

Experience in mechanical/piping, electrical, and structural design and drafting.

Project management and training experience.

Education & Certifications

Associate Degree in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology. Bachelors degree is preferred but not required.

Certified Engineering Technologist (ASET)

Project Management and MS Projects training

ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code certification
