As a key member of COM’s Marketing & Public Affairs team, the Marketing Specialist helps shape how students and our community discover COM, connect with our programs and successfully pursue their educational goals with confidence from start to finish.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Business or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of professional, full-time employment in marketing, advertising, communications, promotions and/or a related field.

Preferred Education / Training / Experience

Master’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field

Experience with higher education and/or enrollment marketing

Experience with digital marketing

Experience with client relationship management (CRM) platforms

Required Skills and Abilities

Manage several tasks/projects concurrently

Working knowledge of trends in the field of marketing

Working knowledge and experience with building marketing campaigns

Excellent interpersonal skills

Strong oral and written skills

Ability to work as part of a team, maintain good working relationship with all co‑workers and the community

Ability to work in both a highly collaborative team environment and independently

Ability and willingness to learn new tools and methods for marketing, project management, etc.

Works effectively with a diverse student body and faculty/staff

Strong commitment to COM’s mission, values and strategic priorities

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

Working knowledge of CRM platforms

Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Adwords

Working knowledge of Meta and YouTube advertising platforms

Experience with AP copywriting

Job Duties

Assist with enrollment and retention marketing by developing student‑centered messaging, coordinating outreach campaigns.

Support the development and execution of institutional marketing campaigns that strengthen enrollment, student success and community engagement.

Create digital and print content across various marketing platforms including social media, email, web, digital ads, CRM, short videos, photography and program collateral, that reflects COM’s brand and engages target audiences.

Assist with marketing‑related website content and help manage the marketing ticket system to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Support social media efforts by drafting content, capturing photo/video assets, monitoring engagement and contributing to platform strategy.

Assist with developing and launching promotional strategies for college events.

Track and report on campaign performance metrics and collaborate with departments across the College to ensure marketing materials effectively communicate program value to students and the community.

Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Attendance Required.
