Our customer, the Best Choice in the utility construction business, is currently hiring entry‑level and experienced onsite Designers in
Chesapeake and Hampton, VA . This office‑based position involves drafting designs for utility and telecommunications construction projects as part of a six‑month contract with potential extension or full‑time employment.
Responsibilities
Ability to synthesize information and create designs
Complete markups
Prepare report graphics
Set‑up and prepare plans
Assist with submittals
Maintain QA/QC processes and requirements
Education & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred.
AutoCAD knowledge is a must.
Experience with telecommunications or utility design is a plus.
Job Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Proficiency using a computer and common professional programs (e.g., Office 365).
One year of recent professional work experience using AutoCAD or recent graduation from an AutoCAD‑focused educational program.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay rate: $27/hr + DOE
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision Coverage, Supplemental Insurance through Aflac, & 401(k) plan.
