smartdept. is searching for a WordPress & Digital Marketing Specialist for a digital marketing industry client. The ideal candidate will come with 1-3+ years of hands‑on WordPress, GA4, GTM, and SEO experience. This is a part-time, fully remote, ongoing contract opportunity (approx. 5 hours per week) with the possibility of additional project‑based hours.
This role supports ongoing website maintenance, light WordPress development, GA4/GTM tracking setup, and SEO implementation. The specialist will ensure the website remains stable, optimized, and accurately tracked, while assisting with small development tasks and continuous SEO improvements.
What You’ll Do:
Maintain and update WordPress pages, templates, widgets, and plugins
Perform light front‑end development (HTML/CSS adjustments, layout tweaks)
Set up and manage Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager tracking
Implement tags, events, conversions, and troubleshoot tracking issues
Execute ongoing SEO tasks, including meta updates, keyword optimisation, internal linking, schema, and content adjustments
Monitor general site performance and provide basic recommendations
Collaborate with the marketing team on small website enhancements and optimisation initiatives
What You’ll Need: Education/Experience:
Experience working with WordPress in a hands‑on capacity
Experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager (setup + troubleshooting)
Proven ability to implement SEO best practices within WordPress
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for light template modifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage small ongoing workloads independently
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg, WPBakery)
Familiarity with technical SEO elements (site speed, schema markup, redirects)
Experience building dashboards in Looker Studio
Comfort working alongside marketing teams and supporting digital initiatives
