Position Summary The objective of this entry level position is to ensure the efficient operation of the sales desk by interfacing with senior sales, trading and staff, “Street” counterparties/contacts, and the firm’s institutional client base. This is a step level training role designed as preparation for a full-time taxable sales position, with the required selling proficiencies and responsibilities. The expectation is that the incumbent will build a working knowledge of all fixed income products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist sales team with disseminating daily trading “runs” to investing clients.

Provide immediate and/or backup coverage on incoming and outgoing phone calls. Ensure that internal sales colleagues’ and external client inquiries are handled in a timely manner.

Monitor market information from Bloomberg and MarketAxess and other sources to ensure it is disseminated as needed to trading and sales team members.

Gather, organize and communicate inquiries from sales team and assist in sourcing bonds from portfolios of investing clients and portfolio management counterparties.

Assist with generating opportunities for revenue growth.

Provide assistance/back up coverage when the sales team is out the office; monitoring sales inquiries and situations.

Proficiency with the timely inputting and execution of sales tickets, in accordance with all FINRA regulations and requirements.

Work with internal and client back office/trade settlement areas to address any issues related to the timely settlement of all taxable fixed income trades.

Maintain a working knowledge of macro-economic news and trends.

Required Licenses And Registrations

FINRA certification SIE, Series 7 are required within 90 days of hire and Series 63 is required within nine months of hire.

Current SIE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math or Engineering is strongly desired. Work experience/internship in a financial services or investment banking firm is desired but not required.
