We represent one of the largest general contractors in the US, working on large‑scale commercial projects valued at $50M+.
You will be responsible for the planning, management, and execution of all aspects of moderately complex construction projects. This leadership role involves managing on‑site teams, orchestrating construction sequencing, and ensuring project goals are met regarding safety, quality, and profitability. A direct career path up to Senior Superintendent.
Base Pay Range $125,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Safety Culture:
Lead the project’s safety culture by mentoring staff and maintaining an injury‑free environment. Investigate incidents and implement retraining as necessary.
Field Management:
Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff to ensure a seamless workflow.
Site Control:
Coordinate the care, custody, and control of the project site, including logistics and work‑plan development for self‑performed tasks.
Scheduling:
Create and manage the master project schedule, implementing changes as needed to ensure timely delivery.
Meeting Leadership:
Lead daily stand‑ups, weekly trade meetings, and participate in Owner‑Architect‑Contractor (OAC) progress meetings.
Budgetary Oversight:
Monitor project budgets and costs via management software; identify financial impacts of project changes.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure strict compliance with specifications through internal QA/QC standards and external resources.
Pre‑Planning:
Partner with field leadership to establish staffing needs and develop project pre‑plans.
Contract Management:
Apply terms and conditions of owner and subcontractor contracts to daily operations.
Procurement:
Manage material and equipment needs, assisting in the selection of tools and formwork for self‑perform operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Industry Experience:
8+ years in commercial construction.
Leadership Experience:
5+ years of direct field supervision.
Project Scope:
Proven track record of leading large‑scale projects ($50M+) and/or managing multiple project teams simultaneously.
Education:
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
Scheduling:
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in industry‑standard scheduling and project management software.
Lean Construction:
Practical ability to apply Lean processes and philosophies to field operations.
Technical Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of layout skills, crane flagging, and rigging.
Operational Awareness:
Deep understanding of labor productivity, self‑perform operations, and trade‑specific scopes.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent physical activity (climbing, bending, reaching).
Willingness to work non‑traditional hours and travel/relocate for project assignments.
