About the Role FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Complete inspections within 4 days after assignment.
Report on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the app.
Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (you pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate varying by county and volume. You will earn an equivalent of
$30‑$40 per hour . Depending on county (urban or rural), you may complete anywhere from 20‑500 inspections per month working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
