Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but the ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection takes 5‑6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in a mobile application.
Be able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle; good gas mileage is a plus as you will pay for your own gas.
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week.
Lower‑volume counties have higher rates, higher‑volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum inspections per month, but work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
