We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Principal Engineer (with Motion Controls) to lead or contribute to detailed hardware and software design of process automation control systems projects. Responsibilities include defining architecture requirements, developing software design specifications, programming PLC and SCADA applications, configuring thin client server applications, process-based historian databases, tuning control loops, and providing startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and qualification services. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects from concept through commissioning. Location: Remote, preferably in Midwest, Texas, or Arkansas You Will: Manage and develop application/control systems design for systems of varying complexity Evaluate alternative system solutions to meet requirements Modify program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems Develop proficiency in programming languages and control device networks for PLCs and PCs Engage with customers to understand their business environment, define scope, plans, and deliverables Work effectively in a team, focusing on customer service and continuous improvement Visit local sites, appreciating documentation and planning in a regulated environment Travel up to 50% as required Embody our Core Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, clients, and professional development You Have: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field 8+ years of experience in detailed control system electrical design Experience with Rockwell products such as Kinetix, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PlantPAx, Factory Talk, Studio 5000, PLC5, SLC500, RSView, PanelView Plus Experience with other PLC platforms (GE, Siemens, Modicon) Experience with SCADA and HMI packages (Proficy, Wonderware) Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of process controls Control system validation experience in pharmaceutical/biotech is a plus Knowledge of control system networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet) Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes, GMP, and validation Knowledge of S88 Batch standards and batch system implementation experience Excellent communication skills A collaborative, team-oriented mindset Benefits include 401k with match, prompt enrollment, comprehensive health benefits, generous paid time off, and ongoing training and development opportunities.
