Base pay range
$65,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr
Our client is a growing international freight forwarder based in New York, NY seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Import Coordinator to manage end-to-end import operations. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience coordinating air and ocean import shipments, strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced logistics environment while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage air and ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery
- Prepare, review, and process import documentation including arrival notices, bills of lading, airway bills, commercial invoices, and packing lists
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and internal SOPs
- Communicate regularly with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, truckers, and warehouse partners
- Track shipment status and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies
- Issue arrival notices and coordinate customs clearance and final delivery
- Accurately input shipment data into the TMS/Freight Management System
- Invoice customers and review vendor invoices for accuracy
- Provide timely updates and exceptional service to customers
- Maintain organized shipment files and records
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years of experience handling air and ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong understanding of international shipping terms (Incoterms), import documentation, and logistics processes
- Familiarity with U.S. Customs procedures and compliance requirements
- Experience working with freight forwarding or logistics software systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
