F-35 Aircraft Structures Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced F-35 Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join our team at MCAS Miramar, CA. This position involves working as part of a Contract Field Team (CFT) responsible for depot-level modifications at Department of Navy (DoN) locations. The role focuses on installing and modifying structural aircraft components and composite parts with precision and adherence to strict tolerances. Responsibilities
Install detail parts such as shims, splices, gussets, angles, brackets, doublers, and patches. Modify major structural components and composite assemblies using shop aids. Apply expert knowledge of bonding practices to achieve exact fits, maintaining tolerances to 0.005". Complete bonding operations efficiently, determining the best fabrication and assembly methods. Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and structure repair manuals. Identify aircraft locations using engineering documentation and technical orders. Use precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and standard scales. Demonstrate extensive experience with tools such as drills, angle motors, shears, drill press, and pneumatic riveter. Familiarize with various aircraft materials including aluminum, steel, titanium, plastic, and composites. Verify application and condition of installed Low Observable materials for conformity to specifications. Set up and operate various types of material testers and mixers. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safely perform job tasks. Essential Skills
High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant work experience for Mech 3. High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant work experience for Mech 4. Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, and technical manuals. Active Secret Clearance or higher (US Citizenship required). Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and meet other physical demands. Additional Skills & Qualifications
DoD Intermediate level sheet metal/structures/airframes experience or commercial/industry equivalent. MOU/Depot or Contract Field Team experience with complex aircraft modifications. Why Work Here?

The pay range for this position is $31.06 - $44.31/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
