The Inside Sales Representative - Strategic Vertical Markets (named accounts) will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing sales opportunities across the Federal, State, and Local Government sectors. This individual will play a key role in driving growth within the public sector vertical by collaborating with Outside Sales, Procurement, and Product Line Management (PLM) to ensure timely, accurate quoting and the availability of appropriate solutions. The role requires a proactive approach to opportunity mining, pipeline accuracy, quota achievement, and cross-functional coordination to deliver best-in-class service to NWS's government customers.

This role requires occasional travel between our business and client site locations throughout Canada and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Opportunity Development & Quoting

Proactively identify, qualify, and quote opportunities within Strategic Vertical Markets, Federal, State, and Local Government accounts.

Develop tailored solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with NWS's product and service offerings.

Track, manage, and follow up on all quotes to maximize closure rates.

Pipeline & CRM Management

Maintain full ownership of opportunity management in HubSpot (CRM), ensuring all opportunities, activities, and pipeline stages are updated accurately and in a timely manner.

Provide regular reporting and forecasting updates to management based on HubSpot data.

Monitor pipeline health, flagging risks and opportunities for proactive follow-up.

Quota & Sales Performance

Work to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas established for the public sector vertical.

Consistently manage pipeline activities to ensure sufficient coverage for quota attainment.

Deliver accurate sales forecasts and performance updates to leadership.

Responsible for proposal prep and relevant quotes.

Collaboration & Coordination

Partner with Outside Sales to ensure effective customer engagement and alignment on sales strategies.

Work closely with Procurement and PLM teams to confirm product availability, lead times, and competitive pricing.

Provide timely updates on account activities, pipeline status, and market intelligence to cross-functional teams.

Customer Engagement

Serve as a responsive point of contact for Strategic Vertical Markets customers regarding quotes, product information, and order status.

Support customer meetings, calls, and bid responses in coordination with Outside Sales.

Build relationships with key stakeholders in the public sector market to drive loyalty and repeat business.

Qualifications & Skills

2-4 years of experience in inside sales, preferably within IT, telecom, or technology distribution.

Knowledge of public sector procurement processes and government contracting vehicles is highly desirable.

Hands-on experience with HubSpot (or similar CRM platforms) required, including pipeline management and reporting.

Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales quotas.

Strong ability to manage quotes, pricing, and opportunity pipelines.

Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Team-oriented with proven ability to collaborate across departments.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and quoting tools.

Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and urgency.
