Overview
We are looking for a dynamic, technical marine underwriter at Liberty GIL Mumbai. The role involves working closely with regional underwriting teams and sales distribution teams to drive growth with profitability and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Manage referrals for marine cargo underwriting and evaluate them based on prudent underwriting practices and company philosophy.
Oversee overall marine portfolio, aiming for profitability, sustainability, and growth.
Analyze marine book data to identify performance across segments.
Ensure regulatory compliance with audit and IRDA norms and guidelines.
Collaborate with IT team to set system requirements and develop solutions.
Guide and train regional underwriters and sales teams on marine underwriting and products.
Work closely with underwriters and sales teams across other locations to ensure seamless service toward retail and agency marine business.
Visit major intermediaries, brokers, clients, and branches.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years in marine cargo underwriting.
FIII or other similar certificates by national or international bodies are preferred.
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
Bachelor’s degree.
