Position Summary Responsible for providing exceptional sales and customer service through various channels, including the sales counter, phone, email, and other ordering methods. Duties include processing orders, providing technical assistance, recommending substitute products, entering orders into the company’s software system, and ensuring accurate and prompt fulfillment. Additionally, this role manages sales quotations for contractors and industrial customers, product selection, follow‑ups, and delivery coordination. It also supports inventory management, vendor relations, marketing initiatives, and ongoing product training to align with branch goals. Other duties may be assigned to support sales operations and ensure the achievement of branch objectives.
Responsibilities
Order Management: Process and maintain customer orders through in‑person, phone, email, and other channels ensuring best practices and accurate fulfillment.
Customer Consultation & Sales Negotiation: Evaluate customer eligibility for quotes, analyze project specifications, recommend appropriate products, advise on applications, and negotiate vendor pricing.
Vendor Relations & Operational Support: Engage vendor reps as needed to support branch sales and operations.
Sales Counter Management: Maintain a clean, organized sales area; assist management with merchandising, display updates, and literature organization.
Attend all training sessions and department meetings.
Serve as backup to the warehouse.
Skills / Physical Demands / Additional Qualifications
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Post‑offer pre‑employment DOT physical
Driver’s license that meets job requirements (KS Class‑C, MO Class‑E, OK Class‑D) and a clean motor‑vehicle driving record
Must obtain forklift safety certificate once hired
Lift 100 lbs infrequently, 25 lbs frequently
EOE including Disability/Vets.
