Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the District Director, the incumbent manages the Division of Traffic Operations, which includes the Office of Safety and Office of Mobility. The incumbent plans, organizes, budgets, controls, reviews, and directs the work of Traffic Operations programs. Responsibilities include making presentations to the public and local agencies, representing the Department on policy matters, preparing correspondence and reports, serving as Duty Officer, and acting for the District 10 Director as needed.

Working Conditions The position may be eligible for telework. Telework amounts are at the Department’s discretion. In‑person attendance may be required for operational needs. The selected candidate will commute to the headquartered location as needed. Business travel may be required. Commute expenses to the headquarters are the candidate’s responsibility.

Special Requirements This position will be filled via the California Department of Transportation Managerial Selection Program (MSP) process in accordance with California Code of Regulations § 549.90.
Applicants must have a permanent civil service appointment and meet minimum qualifications by Final Filing Date.
