FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn a predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; effective time management and meeting deadlines is crucial.

What is an Occupancy Verification Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the inspection is to verify property occupancy, report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application, and in some cases take interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Most inspections take 5-6 minutes.
Complete inspection within 4 days after assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary by county and volume. You will earn roughly $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and urban/rural location, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month; the work is consistent month to month.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
