The City of Paramount is looking for a part-time Recreation Leader. The position offers a $15.00 - $18.23 hourly wage and is located in Paramount, CA. The selected candidate will receive a $250 hiring bonus after a period of three months of employment. The closing date for applications is continuous. Qualifications: Education and experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance are required. High school graduation or equivalent is needed. Examples include relevant experience and/or training in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field. Knowledge and Ability: The successful candidate will have the ability to work with youth and adults, follow written and verbal instructions, answer phones, and communicate clearly and concisely with staff and the public while exercising good judgment, courtesy, and tact. License/Certification Requirements: A valid Class C California Driver License and an acceptable driving record are required. General Duties: Under general direction, the Recreation Leader will organize and supervise a wide variety of facility functions. Responsibilities include: Assisting in the planning, promoting, conducting, and evaluating of recreational programs and activities. Facility set up/breakdown and decoration. Interacting and stimulating interest while conducting and supervising program activities including sports, games, contests, special events, art and crafts, and other social activities. Assisting with coordinating and supervision of community special events. Inspecting assigned recreation facilities and/or equipment; reporting necessary repairs. Setting up tables and chairs for facility reservations and events. Cleaning work spaces including City facilities.
