Job Summary Ensure hot and cold deli foods are prepared according to company standards. Promote customer service by taking and filling customer order requests and maintaining attractive product presentation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist with slicing, weighing, packaging, labeling, and preparing hot and cold deli foods under supervision.
Clean, assemble, and prepare equipment for operation and examine working order under supervision.
Adhere to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating deli products.
Stack pallets and sort product into correct locations according to company efficiency standards.
Provide friendly, customer‑service‑oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone and in person.
Promote product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to company safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Learn new systems, methods, or processes.
Read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales.
Safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a slicer.
Safely operate and maintain department equipment.
Safely work with objects with sharp edges such as a meat slicer, knives, box cutters.
Use non‑precision and precision hand tools under supervision.
Work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
Communicate effectively with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Attentive to potential hazards, remedying or placing appropriate warning signs or devices.
Report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
Education, Experience And Qualifications
Minimum of 16 years of age required.
Must be 18 years of age to operate and clean motorized equipment.
Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for company business.
Typical on‑the‑job training.
Food Handler certification required.
Physical Demands
Use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or ability to focus.
Stand or walk continuously.
Use hands for reaching, touching or handling continuously.
Talk and hear continuously.
Use fine finger movements or strenuous finger or hand movements frequently.
Bend, kneel, squat, or stoop frequently.
Push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs. frequently, up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
Attendance at work required.
