Responsibilities The Associate, Employee Relations, working under general supervision, is responsible for applying existing organizational practices and procedures for the administration of resolutions to employee relations issues, including investigations into conflicts, disputes, and disciplinary matters, with fairness and consistency in a timely manner. The role supports the administration of company policies and procedures related to employee relations, performance management, and workplace conduct. The role applies research, information gathering, analytical and interpretation skills to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity to foster a compliant and ethical work environment. The role also works with Specialists to maintain accurate and confidential employee records and data related to employee relations matters.

Assists with the consistent administration of company policies and procedures related to employee relations, workplace conduct, and employee communication as per established norms. Prepares the administrative documents and supports resolution of employee, union, and work council relations issues, such as conflicts, disputes, wage violations, and disciplinary matters, with fairness and consistency in a timely manner in compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. The role also supports managers with preparations for collective bargaining agreements and associated negotiations.

Prepares thorough responses for cases, investigations, departures, mediations between employees, hearings, and related issues as per established practices, procedures, processes, and timelines. Support the implementation of a feedback mechanism for employees to share suggestions on lean process improvement initiatives. Supports managers in monitoring case quality to ensure an efficient and effective experience and assists with the development of templates for internal reporting to senior HR management, HRBPs, and employee relations teams.

Interprets defined company policies and practices to complete administrative tasks involved in the daily implementation of performance management systems, including performance evaluations, goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and performance improvement plans. Assists in the design and implementation of training programs for managers across departments on employee relations subjects such as conflict resolution, dispute management, complaints, goal setting, performance feedback delivery, etc. with the objective of achieving high employee motivation, morale, and a positive work environment. Assists the delivery of employee relations special projects by liaising with external consultants, conducting research into relevant issues, gathering information on industry-wide practices and standards, organizing the information, and analyzing the same.

Assists in formulating effective responses for all types of discrimination charges and complaints through research, information gathering, and application of analytical ability; identifies inconsistencies, if any, and effectively brings them to the Managers’ attention. Maintains accurate and confidential employee records and data related to employee relations matters, including changes in employment status and disciplinary history. Assists in the preparation of HR-specific communications and policies related to employee contracts, including employment terms and conditions, codes of conduct, workforce retrenchment, etc., as per established processes leading to the organizational objective of high employee motivation, morale, and a positive work environment. Assists to regularly update existing HR-specific policies related to employee contracts, employee relations, performance management, workplace conduct, etc. to ensure compliance and consistency with relevant laws and companywide policies. Prepares materials required to process personnel changes, including, but not limited to, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations, and maintains a record of the associated timelines under the guidance of the manager.

Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Organizational Development or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.

Experience Minimum 1 year of work experience with a Master’s degree or 2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.

Work Requirements Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated position but can include, standing, climbing, walking, etc in a Plant setup. Many sedentary jobs require good use of the hands and fingers for repetitive hand-finger actions. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.
