has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a Mechanical Engineer to work on a contract-to-hire role initially 1 year in New Braunfels, TX with benefits offered.
In The Role Of Mechanical Engineer
Work independently to assist in the design and development of equipment and piping components required to meet customer's needs or market demands.
Perform mechanical design calculations for Compressors, Pumps, Heat Exchanger, Columns, Vessels, Tanks, Separators, Dehydration Units, Skids, etc.
Develop engineering documentations such as datasheets, drawings, schematic drawings, material specification or other required data.
Review and analyze modular piping designs to ensure designs adhere codes and standards.
Interface with multiple vendors, third-party contractors and inspectors to meet schedule and deliverables.
Investigate equipment or design failures, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend effective solutions.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Take ownership for deliverables produced and their quality.
Qualifications/Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, or relevant technical degree from reputable institute is required.
5-8+ years of overall relevant engineering experience in Oil & Gas industry is required.
Active Texas Board of Professional Engineers in Mechanical Engineering license is required.
Ability to travel 20% or more during the years for work on site locations required.
Desired Characteristics/Other Skills
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, etc), CAESAR II Software, FEA, strong analytical & problem-solving, excellent communication.
