Tax Analyst (1099, 1042s, 1446(f), 871m)
Contract W-2, New York, NY (3 days onsite). A global bank seeks a Client Tax Analyst to manage withholding tax filings including 1099, 1042s, 1446(f), 871m. The role ensures all withholding and reporting obligations are met, performs data reviews, and oversees governance and controls for Client Tax Operations. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams such as Tax, Compliance, LoD1 Controls, Audit, and Technology is required.
Job Responsibilities
Execute Client Tax Operations Control and oversee tax‑related processes and controls.
Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to establish and maintain consistent client tax practices.
Implement data analysis and management strategies to monitor the health of Client Tax Operations (CTO) and identify potential risks.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate process execution for tax withholding and reporting.
Prepare and orchestrate annual tax reporting (1099, 1042).
Monitor, remediate, and facilitate withholding.
Manage KPIs and KRIs with outsourcing teams to provide insight into performance, risk, and control environment.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax operations, controls, or a related field (e.g., KYC or GM Operations), emphasizing data analysis and risk management.
Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
Proficiency in data management tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
Understanding of withholding tax and IRS filings including 1099, 1042s, 1446(f), 871m.
Demonstrated experience in risk management and developing effective control frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Experience in a global financial services environment.
Knowledge of securities services and custody operations.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to tax operations.
