Client Tax Analyst (Contract)
Location:
New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Contract Role
About the Role We are seeking a
Client Tax Analyst
to support our Client Tax Operations function. This role focuses on ensuring accurate tax withholding, reporting, and operational controls for client accounts within a financial services environment.
You will work closely with internal teams including Tax, Compliance, Audit, and Technology, as well as external vendors, to help maintain strong governance and risk controls across client tax operations.
This is a hands‑on role suited for someone with experience in tax operations, financial controls, and data analysis who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support day‑to‑day
client tax operations , including data reviews and tax‑related processes
Assist with
annual tax reporting , including IRS forms such as
1099
and
1042
Monitor and resolve
tax withholding issues
Analyze data to assess operational health, identify risks, and support control effectiveness
Track and report on
key performance and risk indicators (KPIs/KRIs)
Partner with internal teams (Tax, Compliance, Audit, Technology) to ensure accurate execution of tax processes
Work with outsourced service providers to monitor performance and ensure quality standards
Contribute to process improvements and control enhancements within Client Tax Operations
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience
in tax operations, financial operations, controls, or a related field (e.g., KYC, global markets operations)
Experience working within a
financial services or banking environment
Understanding of
withholding tax
and IRS reporting requirements (e.g.,
1099 ,
1042 )
Strong
analytical and data management skills
Proficiency in
Excel ; experience with
SQL
and/or
Tableau
is a plus
Experience supporting
risk management or control frameworks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
Self‑motivated and able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a
global financial institution
Knowledge of
securities services or custody operations
Familiarity with additional tax regulations (e.g.,
1446(f) ,
871(m) )
Experience managing stakeholders and cross‑functional relationships
Proven ability to drive
process improvements
and operational efficiencies
Work Arrangement
Hybrid schedule : 3 days onsite per week in New York City
