Senior Accounting Analyst

Based in Los Angeles or Orange County, the Senior Accounting Analyst will be an integral part of the accounting department. This role reports to the Assistant Controller. Responsibilities

Support the month‑end and year‑end close process. Analyze variances between actual financial results and prior periods as well as budget. Prepare and review journal entries and assist in maintaining the general ledger. Assist in maintaining and reviewing the fixed asset subledger. Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Assist the Treasury team with reviewing daily summary reports, monitoring daily cash position, setting up outgoing payments (Wire/ACH), and recording incoming deposits. Complete property and sales and use tax filings. Provide support for financial statement, tax, and compliance audits. Assist with accounts payable processing. Provide and document training to end users in the accounting and accounts payable software systems, configure and test system upgrades, and troubleshoot issues. Communicate with other departments to obtain information required for accounting analysis. Identify and implement process improvements proactively. Prepare ad‑hoc reports and analyses independently. Contribute to department‑wide and firm‑wide special projects, collaborating with key personnel in various departments as appropriate. Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi‑task and prioritize. Work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros). Strong technology skills and the ability to master and leverage accounting systems and new technology solutions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience

A four‑year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required. Four years of accounting experience is preferred. Experience designing and implementing process improvements preferred. Emburse and Aderant experience preferred. Gibson Dunn will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of local law. The annual compensation range for this position is $90,000–$105,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
