Our IT organization is seeking a Director of Enterprise Architecture Operations. This is a new position.
This individual manages the architecture review and governance processes related to technology requests within the organization. This role involves coordinating and facilitating various governance activities, ensuring alignment of technology initiatives with enterprise architecture standards, and supporting the overall technology governance framework. The role plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the EA governance process, ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing among stakeholders. This is a highly technical position requiring outstanding organizational, communications, and presentations skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee EA review and governance process for technology requests from across the organization, including pre-meeting preparations, conducting TRB and ARB meetings, and post-meeting follow-ups.
- Coordinate and facilitate key discussions and meetings with stakeholders, vendors, and governance councils to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Monitor and manage the technology request backlog, ensuring timely review and approval of requests.
- Ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing across ARB and TRB groups, including the dissemination of meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up actions.
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture governance framework, including updating architecture artifacts and guiding principles.
- Revamp and manage messaging and communications related to EA processes and standards, ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned with changes.
- Provide support and guidance to stakeholders through monitoring the EA inbox, facilitating knowledge transfers, and addressing requests and inquiries.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role in an enterprise IT organization.
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and standards such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, IT governance, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
