Position Details
Full Time Executive Director, CHANEL Center for Artists and Technology (CCAT )
Location: Valencia, CA

Key Responsibilities
- Lead CCAT through its five-year grant and strategic vision, fostering innovation at the intersection of art, technology, and global cultural innovation.
- Build and maintain the Center’s operational foundation, including staff recruitment, budgeting, and financial oversight of grant-funded programs.
- Cultivate and manage internal and external partnerships, acting as an ambassador for CCAT within CalArts and the broader art‑and‑technology ecosystem.
- Oversee programmatic excellence through rigorous evaluation, resource stewardship, and the development of short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with CalArts and the CHANEL Culture Fund priorities.
- Serve as a strategic communicator and liaison, ensuring CCAT’s visibility, influence, and alignment with institutional goals across domestic and international communities.
Qualifications
- Background and credibility in the arts, technology, or their intersection with a demonstrated record of accomplishment.
- Minimum 10 years of related work experience, preferably in leadership roles, navigating arts and technology environments.
- Commitment to CalArts’ multidisciplinary and academic model, with strong organizational, relationship‑building, and partnership‑management skills.
- International engagement experience, including interactions with governments or diplomatic arenas.
- Exceptional inclusive communication skills, proven ability to motivate teams, and expertise in performance management.
- Project management experience with grant‑funded financial operations, with strong judgment and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Adaptability and resilience in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial settings.
- Proficiency in English and preference for a second language.
- Graduate or professional degree in a related field preferred (arts, education, and/or technology).
Compensation
Salary range: $180,000 – $200,000, commensurate with experience.
