What We’re Looking For The Business Development Specialist promotes and secures new PCCA memberships, products, or service agreements to prospective pharmacies that want to add compounding or expand their compounding practice (community and/or health system pharmacies).
What You Will Do
Promote PCCA membership, key products, and services to community and/or health system pharmacies.
Develop prospecting strategies (calls, visits, zooms) and execute plans at the highest level.
Facilitate stages of the prospecting pipeline and manage conversations with new and existing prospects.
Identify, qualify, and secure product and service opportunities.
Create and deliver information to potential clients for client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, and conferences.
Secure meetings with SMEs (clinical experts, BDM, KAM, champion PCCA members) through the funnel to help close.
Conduct virtual tours of PCCA member benefits and advantages, including member‑only website.
Research potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources.
Qualify leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc.
Close sales and work with clients through the closing process.
Collaborate with sales, clinical, PCCA champion members, and leadership on prospecting strategy and presentation.
Attend and represent PCCA at trade shows with potential speaking engagements (may require overnight and weekend travel).
Travel quarterly with KAM to visit high‑level prospects and member accounts.
Actively increase knowledge of PCCA offerings and industry.
Refer and adhere to playbook, coaching/mentoring provided by BDM.
Conduct monthly 1‑to‑1 meetings with key account managers to survey shared territory for planning routes to visit designated prospects.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree and/or one year of related sales, finance, or compounding pharmacy business experience.
1–3 years of B2B sales experience (preferred).
1–3 years of outbound call‑center sales experience (preferred).
Selling into health systems is a plus.
Selling to pharmacies is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborates exceptionally well with other teams and management.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and math skills.
Experience with sales discovery process, negotiation, account management, lead management, and nurturing.
Relentless about follow‑up and skills development.
Fearless about cold calling and comfortable hearing “no.”
Ability to work independently in a goal‑oriented environment.
Effective communication via telephone and Zoom.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Experience with robust CRM.
Creative and passionate about presenting PCCA to prospects and members of the pharmacy community.
